About us
We are a Newfoundland based Urn manufacturer utilizing reclaimed vintage wood to make unique memorials, and burial urns. Our Urns are made from high-quality reclaimed wood derived from old pianos and home furnishings. Every year, old home furnishings are thrown away due to their used appearance, or accidental damage. While it may be uneconomical to restore an old piano, for example, or repair a broken table leg, it doesn’t mean that the otherwise unaffected solid woods within these home furnishings should go in our landfills! By reclaiming and refinishing select woods from old pianos and furniture, Urns are created, combining different ages and species of woods. No two Urns are alike, just like the loved one you wish to cherish within. Vintage-Wood Urns are made with solid woods and veneers – no particle board, MDF, Plywood, or Melamine. The woods used have often enjoyed decades, if not a century or more of climate control within a dwelling. This long period of climate maintenance makes some select woods idealistically stable for use in a specialty woodshop setting. The reclaimed woods used are between 50-200 years old, and noticeably different by way of their species grain pattern and natural color, in comparison to newly available lumber. This Vintage-Wood, we feel, compliments the nature of our product. Vintage-Wood Urns adds the personal touch to your Urn Selection. Urns are more often mass-produced items, imported to Canada and sold in Funeral Homes. If you’re looking for something more unique, individualistic, and affordably priced, we may have an Urn for you. Each urn is handcrafted in Newfoundland and shipping anywhere in Canada is possible. Shipping rates vary depending on the size and weight of a selected Urn. Contact Us to receive a timely quote.
